Qweiks Shows ANOTHER PART Of Him

After his first single "Home Again" which featured multiple awards nominated hip-hop artiste J-Town was released, Qweiks has released yet another single today, 22.07.2011. The single titled "Another Part Of Me" featuring Richie, might just be a consolation for his previously announced mixtape, "Return Of The Traveller", which was never completed to be released due to various chronic illnesses that hit the artiste.

DMX Caught With Drugs in Prison

Looks like DMX won't be getting out of jail tomorrow after all. According to TMZ, time has been added to the end of the troublesome rapper's sentence after he was caught with drugs while incarcerated.

Apparently X has had at least seven disciplinary infractions since January including unauthorized smoking, disrespect, disorderly conduct and refusal to take a drug test.

John Legend Sued for Stealing a Song

John Legend has a reputation as a gentleman, but the acclaimed singer/songwriter has recently been accused of some less-than genteel behavior. Anthony Stokes, a singer based in New Jersey, is suing Legend for copyright infringement, claiming the Grammy winner took advantage of him and stole a song of his for the 2006 album Once Again.

Stokes says he met Legend as a student attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2004. The G.O.O.D. Music crooner was playing a homecoming concert, and Stokes was among a group of fans who stayed after the show to take part in an autograph session.

Jay-Z Is Two Songs Deep Into Next Solo Album

While fans are still eagerly waiting for Jay-Z to drop his collaborative album with Kanye West, Watch the Throne, he has already started working on his next solo album. At an exclusive listening session for Throne on Thursday night at the Mercer Hotel, the Brooklyn rapper revealed that he is two songs deep into recording his 12th solo LP.

The experience of creating the collaboration was so positive, Jay said, it inspired him begin working on new material of his own. Besides the two songs he has already completed, which he claimed were the best first pair of tunes he has ever created for one of his albums, he also has another four ideas ready to go.

"I know exactly the tone and the whole feel of the album," Jay-Z said of the follow-up to 2009's platinum-certified The Blueprint 3. "I think when you experience creativity, you should get it out as much as possible."

Chale Wote brings street art to James Town

Accra's largest free urban festival and the first annual Chale Wote Street Art Festival is preparing to take over James Town by welcoming over 250 artists from different disciplines for a music and art showdown on July 16.

The festival is hosted by ACCRA [dot] ALT, The French Embassy and Institut Francais.

ACCRA [dot] ALT is a multimedia platform that encourages the exploration and experimentation of art--photography, film, performance, music, writing and design--by recognizing Ghanaian artists, domestically and internationally, who take bold leaps in their work.

The coordinators of ACCRA [dot] ALT are independent filmmaker, Mantse Aryeequaye and Dr. Sionne Neely, a researcher and writer.
