Since being released from prison in March, it seems that Da Brat has been in the studio making new music. Life After Death is her 11 song free mixtape, available here. It features remixes to Chris Brown's "Look At Me Now," Kelly Rowland's "Motivation" and YC's "Racks." Plus there are a few originals-- “Get It Get It” with Jadakiss and “Dumb Stupid Crazy” with Twista--both produced by her long time friend and collaborator Jermaine Dupri.
The So-So Def femcee was released from prison and put on house arrest after being charged with aggravated assault for attacking a restaurant hostess with a broken bottle.
As the first female rapper in history to go solo, Da Brat will always play a huge part in the hip hop game. And don't sleep on her verses. Some rappers who've been in the game as long as Da Brat can't seem to adapt their lyrics to the changes in hip hop--but she can. Just listen to the originals on this mixtape and you can hear the evolution of her flow. But best believe she's still funkdafied.
