Looks like Beyonce is teaming up with one of Hollywood’s most iconic directors — five-time Oscar winner Clint Eastwood. It is reported that Beyonce will star in the fourth remake of A Star Is Born, which will be directed and produced by Eastwood.
The first A Star Is Born was in 1937 and won two Oscars. The second A Star Is Born was in 1954, starring Judy Garland, nominated for five Oscars with Garland famously losing to Grace Kelly – this was the same year Dorothy Dandridge was nominated for Carmen Jones. The 1976 version starred Barbra Streisand and won an Oscar for Best Original Song.
The story is about a struggling singer who gets involved with a former star that helps her break into the music business. There are no details on how close the script will resemble the previous versions, but the film will be a musical.
Working with Clint Eastwood is what every actor dreams of but people will surely give this role the side-eye considering it’s another role where Beyonce is playing a singer, which she has done in three other films.
