Hip-hop rapper, Trigmatic tops this year’s nominations in the hip-hop/hiplife category for the Ghana Music Awards with 7 nominations with songs from his ‘Permanent Stain’ album. The musician who has worked tirelessly around the clock with about 99% perspiration and 1% luck can now sit back and say hard work sure pays off. Would he be the first hip-hop artiste to swoop away all the awards at the GMA?
Kwabena Kwabena tops it all with 9 nominations, followed gospel singer Cecelia Marfo who also like Trigmatic, tops the gospel genre with 7 nominations.
Other top nominees are V.I.P with 5 nominations, Eazzy – 5 nominations, D-Black – 5 nominations, No Tribe - 5 nominations, Castro - 5 nominations, R2Bees – 3 nominations and J-Town with 2 nominations.
The annual Ghana Music Awards Festival will be held this year on
April 9, 2011 and will be held at the Dome (Accra Conference Centre). The public can vote by texting the category name and the name of artiste to MTN short code 1767.
